Today marks 21 years since dad’s death and it had me thinking about what he was doing when he was 21..

In 1969, Michael met Sandra.

They watched the moon landing together with friends and family upstate in his beloved “blueberry mountains… a land of dreams”.

That year his band, “The New York Rock & Roll Ensemble” performed at Carnegie Hall with Leonard Bernstein and released their second studio album, “Faithful Friends”.

- From that album - here’s Michael doing what made him happy and singing his song called “City”…

(thanks to Spiros for posting!)

I often wonder what dad would have to say about current events and his music always seems to have a note or few in answer when I turn to it.

I know that right now, if he were still around, he’d be making whatever new noises he could to encourage people to vote and sing together to turn the page…

But he did write a symphony for this new millennium - it was his musical poem to America’s past and the great future he believed could be possible when we realize that we all have the same dream.

Listening to it now, gave me some peace and hope for the next chapter…
