Premiere of Michael’s Concerto For Electric Guitar and Orchestra, as part of Eric Clapton’s 24 Nights residency in 1990 & then again in 1991, at the Royal Albert Hall.
The record-setting series of 42 concert nights each focused on either blues, rock or orchestra. On the Orchestral nights, Michael conducted the National Philharmonic Orchestra alongside an epic band line up.
The Concerto for Electric Guitar, as a collaboration, was conceived by Michael for his friend Eric’s unique voice. It premiered alongside 14 of Michael’s orchestral arrangements for Eric’s songs and their earliest major collaboration together, “Edge of Darkness”.
