Leonard Bernstein Young Peoples Concert 'Bach Transmogrified' (1969)

Bernstein invited the band to perform in his series of televised concerts at New York’s Carnegie Hall in April 1969

NYRRE Performance of “Bach Transmogrified” - Baroque rock Brandenburg Concerto no5

Leonard Bernstein’s introduction: “ At last, we give the stage over to those 5 mad geniuses, who go by the name the New York Rock and Roll Ensemble. They are 5 hybrids, half blue blood and half Beatle. Half conservatory trained and half trained in the college of Hard Rock.”

Bernstein’s introduction to the NYRRE performance begins around the 44m 20s mark…

Would love to know what the kids in the audience remember of it now based on their reactions at the time!
