David Bowie - Diamond Dogs Tour & David Live (1974)

North America and Bowie’s largest band project.

Michael was Music Director and played oboe, Moog Synthesiser and electric piano 

Bowie was in NYC with Tony Defries when Michael’s first ballet - Rodin - premiered with the Harkness Ballet and he went back stage to meet Michael afterwards. He was so impressed and they got on so well, Bowie asked Michael to oversee his change in direction with the Diamond Dogs Album and US Tour. Michael introduced musicians and dancers to join the party.

MK was only in his 20’s.. but completely aware and in charge and confident in what he was doing and that was really essential because without that we could not have made the rest of it work..
